In 2014 started a Facebook group to help connect freelancers to work, Austin Freelance Gigs (AFG), that group now has almost 9000 members. The sheer speed in which that group grew and turned in to a community that first year was inspiring. By July of that same year the members of AFG inspired the creation of The Freelance Conference (aka #FREECON).
In 2015, a small group of like-minded souls and myself launched the Texas Freelance Association as a 501(c)3 nonprofit.
It’s all evolving as needed to meet the needs of the freelance business community, that was the goal from the beginning.
